Ranikhet was proposed as the summer headquarters of British India. However, the title was given to Shimla instead.

Ranikhet is a picturesque hill station located in the Almora district of the Indian state of Uttarakhand.

Ranikhet is a town steeped in centuries-old imperial and colonial  heritage, Presently, it serves as the headquarters of the  Kumaon Regiment.

Ranikhet is home to the nine-hole Ranikhet Golf Course, which is one of the highest in Asia and offers stunning views of the rolling meadows.

The Pantnagar Airport (109Km) is the closest airport, while the nearest railway  station is in Kathgodam (75Km). Additionally, the town is well-connected by  road.

The best time to visit Ranikhet is from March to June and September to November, when the weather is pleasant and ideal for sightseeing and outdoor activities.

Ranikhet offers many attractions such as the Army Museum, Chaubatia Orchard, Haidakhan Temple and many more. The town is also known for its beautiful golf course and scenic trekking routes.
