Use the Hindi audio where available; playback uses a Hindi voice provided by your browser or device, and voice availability and quality vary. In the hints, aa is a long open vowel, ee is a long “ee”, and oo is a long “oo”; the final n in mehn, hehn, hoon or kahaan indicates nasal resonance rather than a strong n. Hindi kh, th, ph and dh include a puff of breath; th is not the English sound in “think”, ph is not f, and jh is a j sound followed by breath.
चाहिए (chaahiye) expresses wanting or needing something. Naming an ingredient is clearer than assuming a dietary label covers it: ask about egg with अंडा, and state any other restriction separately. कम मिर्च requests less chilli; it does not mean “no spices”.
