IMD weather warning कैसे पढ़ें: colour, symbol, place और valid time

District के सामने orange weather panel दिखा। क्या इसका मतलब हर जगह same rain, wind या thunderstorm होगा? नहीं। सही reading location, valid period और hazard symbol से शुरू होती है; colour बाद में आता है। Colour attention या action level बताता है, हर street का exact weather नहीं।

पहले सही map area match करें

India Meteorological Department subdivision-wise और district-wise warnings publish करता है। एक subdivision में कई districts हो सकते हैं, जबकि district panel ज्यादा local होता है। Bulletin में लिखे state, district या meteorological subdivision को confirm करें। Phone map में पास दिखने के कारण एक district की warning neighbouring district पर लागू न मानें।

Valid period पढ़ें

हर bulletin का issue time और valid period होता है। IMD legend pages में day warning अक्सर उस दिन 08:30 IST से अगली morning 08:30 IST तक valid बताई जाती है। आप जिस bulletin को use कर रहे हैं, उसका exact note पढ़ें; “Day 1” midnight पर खत्म होगा—यह assume न करें। Forecast day के साथ issue date भी save करें।

Colour response level बताता है

IMD legend में green का अर्थ no warning या no action, yellow watch या be aware, orange alert या action के लिए तैयार रहना और red warning या action लेना है। IMD यह भी साफ करता है कि red colour warning को automatically “red alert” phrase न बनाएं। Official legend की wording रखें और bulletin में दी impact advice पढ़ें।

Symbol बताता है hazard क्या है

Heavy rain, thunder और lightning, hail, strong surface wind, fog, heat wave, cold wave और heavy snow अलग hazards हैं। Same colour अलग date या place पर अलग symbol के साथ आ सकता है। Screenshot share करने से पहले symbol और legend देखें। केवल “आज orange है” अधूरा है, जब तक यह न बताया जाए कि orange किस hazard के लिए है।

Coverage word आपके pin की certainty नहीं

Isolated, scattered, fairly widespread और widespread spatial distribution बताते हैं। Isolated event जहाँ होता है वहाँ severe हो सकता है, लेकिन अधिकतर stations प्रभावित हों—यह जरूरी नहीं। Broad forecast एक village, road या hotel का exact start time promise नहीं करता। Mountain drive या outdoor event से पहले available local nowcast या district update देखें।

छह-point reading routine

1. State, subdivision और district match करें।
2. Issue date और time note करें।
3. Valid period पढ़ें।
4. Hazard symbol पहचानें।
5. Colour और action wording पढ़ें।
6. Departure से पहले newer bulletin देखें।

Group travel में एक person latest bulletin check करे और बाकी लोगों को screenshot के साथ check time भी बताए। इससे अलग-अलग पुरानी images पर decision लेने की confusion कम होती है।
