Champawat district

Champawat is in Kumaon. It became a separate district from Pithoragarh on 15 September 1997, according to the district administration. Older records may therefore describe places here under Pithoragarh.

The official district introduction discusses Champawat, Lohaghat, Abbott Mount and Pancheshwar. These names identify different places, not alternative names for one destination.
